History of the Newfoundland Club ČR

• Establishment of the club
  The club was founded by a group of enthusiasts-friends and breeders of Newfoundland dogs under the name "Klub chovatelů Novofundlandských psů" on 13th of February 1967 in Prague. The club was founded from "The club of the breeders of the big dogs", where they were organised with other big dogs such as St.Bernard dogs. Since 1967 this Newfoundland club has been the only one in the Czechoslovakia for following cca. 25 years!
  
  
• Fellowship in F.C.I.
  The club has been included CSCHDZ and forth integrated in CMS, as member of F.C.I.
  
  
• Svazarm
  As a working tribe (FCI II.), the Newfoundlad dog, apart of the other things, served in Czechoslovakia military. Consequently the Home Department registered the club in the year 1975 into SVAZARM under the name
  184. ZO Svazarmu - Klub chovatelů Novofundlandských psů.


• ČKS
  After November '89 the Svazarm has closed his activity and "Klub chovatelů Novofundlandských psů" was integrated as member in CKS under the bylaw of the CKS. The club is a member of F.C.I. through CMKS.
  
  
• The Newfoudnland Klub ČR
  The club accepts new bylaw in the year 2000, March 4th, and has been registered by Department of Home Affairs as Novofundland Klub CR (czech) and Newfoundland Club CR (english). Home Department confirm at the same time successorship of "Klub chovatelů Novofundlandských psů" to Newfoundland Club ČR. The club stays as a member of F.C.I., (NFK CR >> CKS >> CMKU >> F.C.I.).
  The club has cca 220 members today.

Our misson

Preamble of the NFK ČR bylaw says:

• Magnitude of the Newfoudnland Club ČR is genuine interest and publicly useful activity, observing not only legal, but also etical norms.
• Expansion, support and propagation of the Newfoundland dog.
• Their pure-bred breeding.
• Work utilization support, especially in respect of their specific attributes.
• Support not only mutual cohesiveness and relationship among members, but also among other owners and backers of Newfoundlands.
• Mediate to members of NF club informations on breeding and utilization of Newfoundland dog in our country and abroad.
